Application support for eligible English-language study in the UK, with advice on the course, planned stay and appropriate immigration route.
For applicants aged sixteen or over taking an English-only course lasting more than six months and no longer than eleven months at an accredited institution.
We assess the course, proposed accommodation, support arrangements and plans to leave the UK, alongside your immigration history.
Study lasting six months or less is normally considered under the visitor rules. Longer study or a course involving other subjects may require a different route.
See our Student and Child Student Visas service for other sponsored study applications.
We assess your proposed course and personal circumstances, then help prepare an application that reflects the intended purpose and duration of your stay.
Assess the course, institution, travel plans and immigration history to identify whether this route is suitable.
Advise on supporting information and review accommodation, financial support and any relevant parental arrangements.
Assist with the overseas application and required identity process, with advice on timing and travel plans.
Review the grant and conditions, course dates and the arrangements for the end of the visit.
We consider the relevant visa and healthcare charges and any available service options as part of your case assessment. Decision times vary, so course bookings should be planned with the immigration process in mind.
You cannot change course or undertake another course during the stay. Paid or unpaid work, work placements and business activity are not permitted.
Permission can cover the course and up to thirty additional days, within an overall maximum of eleven months. Access to public funds is restricted.
Partners and children cannot apply as dependants under this visa. Any family member planning to travel needs their own appropriate immigration permission.
Parental or guardian consent and suitable travel and living arrangements must be addressed. We review these alongside the proposed course.
We can review the proposed visit for each person rather than assuming one grant covers the family. A relative’s immigration permission and an education provider’s care arrangements serve different purposes.
Short-term Study permission cannot be extended. A further course or a longer stay needs a fresh route assessment and appropriate application planning.
We can assess future study or work plans before your permission expires, including the need to apply from overseas. This route does not provide an automatic in-country transition to Student or work permission.
If your education plans change, get advice before starting a different activity or making travel commitments.
We can review the appropriate immigration route for a later course, employment opportunity or family plan. Eligibility for any new application is assessed separately.
This course does not itself create eligibility for the Graduate visa. Future options depend on the relevant route and your circumstances at the time.
Short-term Study does not lead directly to settlement. We can assess the full immigration history and longer-term plans when advising on separate options.
British citizenship has its own status, residence, absence, language, good-character and other conditions. A short study visit does not confer settlement or citizenship.
