Advice on remaining settlement and dependant options under the closed Tier 1 Investor route.
Advice for people with a Tier 1 Investor history and their eligible dependants. This route is closed to new main applicants.
Assessment of remaining transitional options, current permission and each family member’s position.
The main applicant’s extension deadline has passed. Eligible Tier 1 Investor settlement applications must be made before 17 February 2028 under the current rules.
We review your original grant, subsequent permission and immigration history before advising on what remains available. A transitional deadline does not extend your existing permission.
We assess the rules applying to your investment history and coordinate the next steps with your permission and family circumstances.
Check earlier grants, current permission and the relevant transitional provisions.
Consider settlement eligibility, investment history and any alternative route needed.
Help organise the relevant evidence and present the case under the applicable rules.
Explain the decision, status records and the next steps for you and your family.
The rules required applications for further Tier 1 Investor entry clearance or permission to stay to be made before 17 February 2026. We do not offer this as an open extension route for new requests.
If you applied before the deadline, have a pending decision or already hold permission, we assess the individual position and any remaining steps. The closure does not itself cancel permission already granted.
If settlement cannot be achieved within the available permission and transitional rules, we can assess whether another immigration route is appropriate. Switching can affect the settlement position and must be considered carefully.
Settlement depends on your qualifying residence, investment history and the version of the rules applying to your case. Earlier grants and changes to permitted investments can affect the assessment.
We review residence, absences and the relevant investment evidence alongside the remaining application window. Eligibility is not established simply by having held an Investor visa.
The current rules require the settlement application to be made before 17 February 2028. Your own permission expiry and qualifying date may require earlier action.
Eligible partners and children may still have options to join or remain as dependants, subject to their circumstances and the applicable rules.
Each family member’s residence and eligibility need to be reviewed. The main applicant’s settlement does not automatically settle their dependants.
Eligible dependants can continue to extend their permission in relevant circumstances, including after the main applicant settles. We check the family’s previous grants and the precise provisions that apply.
Children reaching adulthood, children born in the UK and family members outside the UK need individual advice.
We explain the outcome and any further steps concerning your immigration records or your family’s applications. A refusal requires a separate assessment of available remedies and deadlines.
Settlement does not automatically confer British citizenship. Nationality eligibility, residence and the appropriate application are considered separately.
Seek advice before your permission expires or before changing your immigration route. We assess the available options against your history and the applicable deadlines.
