The BN(O) Visa was introduced on 31 January 2021, allowing eligible British National (Overseas) status holders from Hong Kong and their close family members to come to the UK to live, work, and study. It provides a pathway to settlement and eventually British citizenship.
BN(O) Status — You must hold BN(O) status, or be a family member of a BN(O) status holder.
Hong Kong Resident — Ordinarily resident in Hong Kong, or been so since BN(O) status was held.
Financial Requirement — Must be able to support yourself for at least 6 months.
TB Test — Required for applicants from Hong Kong.
No job offer, sponsorship, or English language requirement for the initial application.
Granted for 5 years (or 30 months, renewable). After 5 years of continuous residence, you can apply for ILR. After 12 months of ILR, you can apply for British citizenship.
We assist BN(O) status holders and their families with the full application process, including evidence of BN(O) status, residency history, and financial documentation.
